It is with great pleasure that I announce to you the first daughter pilgrimage of St. Ann’s “Walk the Opeongo Line”. This summer will mark the first annual “St. Philomena Walking Pilgrimage” from Yorkton, SK to Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Rama, SK.
Dave Hudy, who has twice walked the Opeongo Line, was inspired during his journey to begin another pilgrimage in his own archdiocese of Regina. With the help of many faithful in his area he has succeeded in making the necessary preparations for the 4day, 96km walk! If you would like to know more about this new pilgrimage, check it out: www.stphilomena.ca
Given that my own inspiration to start “Walk the Opeongo Line” came from doing other pilgrimages, I had a reasonable hope that the same inspiration would come to other pilgrims. It’s a beautiful thing to see new people taking up this ancient devotion of prayer and penance. There are many shrines and holy places in our own country and dioceses, and there are many roads to each of them, so I hope that many others will hear God’s call to gather faithful together on new adventures with Our Good Lord.
Many blessings to Dave and the pilgrims of St. Philomena!
